The role: As we navigate 2023 and beyond, our long-term vision for Technology is to enable Carnival UK to grow, evolve and transform by continually helping the business to innovate through the application of leading digital technologies. Over the course of the next 5 years, we will significantly transform our IT estate and accelerate delivery of our digital ambitions. At the heart of this will be our transformation to cloud and delivery of cloud-based services. As part of our Infrastructure Architecture team the Senior Cloud Architect will play a key role in driving our cloud strategy, landscape, and services that enable us to deliver unforgettable holiday happiness to our guests. You will: Develop and evolve our cloud strategy by working with teams across IT to deliver a clear way forward for our journey to cloud and delivering a cloud platform that will support our future digital ambitions Developing a clear strategy for our ships as we transform them from traditional data centres to enabling them to deliver digital experiences through hybrid cloud onboard. Lead the architecture & design of our cloud environments across both ship and shore. Ensure future-proofed yet affordable cloud services are in place for communications, network, compute and storage. Engage effectively with key Business & Technology stakeholders, to understand key business initiatives, and guide stakeholders to an agreed cloud architecture. Provide consultancy services to business customers helping them to determine optimum approaches to solve business problems and meet business needs. Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK06 and is offered on a full time, permanent basis, with at least two days based in our Southampton office. About you: Fresh ideas and different perspectives are what excite us most and support us to succeed. Alongside bringing these to the role, you'll also need: Experience in building and driving a cloud strategy within an organisation and/or lead a migration to the cloud. Experience in architecting a cloud platform and the services required to support that platform. Experience in a multi-cloud environment, ideally a hybrid cloud. Current or recent experience of architecting, designing, building and supporting AWS / Azure . A broad range of technologies and pragmatic architectural approaches with a strong understanding of cloud architectural methodologies / frameworks. Experience of evaluating and recommending new cloud services and platforms in response to business needs. Experience of a variety of technologies and implementations, ideally to include virtualisation, web/digital, cloud services (e.g., AWS; Azure), integration, satellite communications, converged networks (including IPTV, VOIP, VoWLAN and CCTV). Proven background delivering cloud-based solutions and compliance projects with offshore based services providers.
