About the role The Senior Infrastructure Engineer role reports to the Manager, IT Systems Admin, working within the Information Technology team to support our Intune device management for Windows and macOS, drive security and identity controls across the Entra suite, and own Microsoft 365 administration at scale. You'll shape conditional access, DLP and Security Center policies, and guide tenant migrations and Autopilot deployments. Working as part of a team to evaluate, deliver and manage technical solutions in Cloud, this role focuses on ensuring the timely delivery of solutions to other internal business units (BAU type activities) and new "green-field" projects where you will leverage your experience to help design elegant solutions. As part of the role there will be a need to provide support to the Helpdesk team with escalated internal support issues, as well as general mentoring activities to help these engineers learn and progress. Several years of professional IT experience in a wide variety of technologies is essential, with particular expertise in some, or all, of the Technical Skills listed below. Key Responsibilities Intune management (Windows/macOS): Device compliance, configuration profiles, app deployment, Autopilot design and rollout. Identity & access (Entra): Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, Identity Protection, PIM/role design, lifecycle and governance. Microsoft 365 administration: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive; security baselines and Microsoft Security Center policies; DLP and data governance. Migration & consolidation: Plan/execute tenant-to-tenant migrations and device migrations; coordinate cutover and hypercare; maintain runbooks. Standards & documentation: Author architecture standards, deployment guides, and operational runbooks. Coach first/second line staff and partner with Security and Operations. Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of individuals and specialists. Technical Skills 5+ years hands on with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune (including Autopilot) at enterprise scale. Strong PowerShell scripting for automation and compliance. Experience and can become the SME for technical knowledge of Active Directory (including AzureAD and SAML Auth), Windows Server, Windows Desktop 10/11, and Azure, including Autopilot, Intune, Endpoint Security and Microsoft 365 administration. Networking (Physical and SDN), Cybersecurity, Antivirus and Firewalls. Virtualisation technologies (VMware & HyperV). Linux server administration (Ubuntu preferred). SharePoint Administration. Backup and business continuity systems (Veeam/AWS). Using ticketing systems, such as Jira (Primarily Kanban/project-driven). Maintaining compliance with InfoSec standards (E.g., Cyber Essentials, ISO27001, Soc 2). Researching and leading new IT project deliverables. Keeping systems documentation and procedures updated and followed. Desirable Skills Microsoft certifications. Experience with migration tooling (BitTitan,ShareGate). Familiarity with Intune Remote Help and modern support models. Exposure to M365 security & DLP compliance operations, Defender ecosystem, and Purview. Experience building workflows with Azure Automation/Logic Apps and integrating with ITSM tools (e.g., Jira/ServiceNow). Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with the wider IT Team.
