We need a Java Developer to join our client’s team at an exciting time to help deliver a challenging business priorities by supporting and developing a variety of Java-based systems. Within the wider Systems Development team, there are a range of other disciplines such as .NET (Company Intranet and Extranet) and those that support and develop the company General Insurance System (IBM System I / RPG). The company are looking to develop a new broker-facing online application, using Java, Spring MVC, and Angular 2. Not forgetting the smaller (but important) things, the company use a range of technologies such as GIT, Hibernate, Jenkins, Websphere, and Eclipse. They also make heavy use of JUnit for testing purposes. You will have the benefit of using the latest hardware, and will receive a Pluralsight subscription to support your ongoing professional development. It's not all about the technology (though they do enjoy it) - it is all about the customer and collaborating with our co-workers to deliver something of enduring and sustainable value. Key Responsibilities: The job is a mix of business-as-usual and project work, with an ever-changing balance between the two. It involves configuration, customisation, and programming, and it requires a lot of interaction with the IT teams and the business. You will have the opportunity to learn, receive training and develop existing skills across a range of systems within a complex and dynamic architecture. The company have a number of maintenance and development projects which need to be live by the end of 2017, and you will play a key role in helping to achieve this.
