Database and Web Developer Salary: £32,000-£35,000 Contract Type: Permanent Hours : Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week Location: Uppingham School, Uppingham Job Purpose The purpose of the role is to assist the Lead and Senior Database and Web Developers to: • Provide expert-level database administration (DBA) services for the School's database systems.• Design, develop and maintain modern, web-based software applications and utilities to supplement and enhance off-the-shelf management systems.• Deliver robust 3rd line support for all database systems and applications. You will work with experienced developers who will help you develop into a full-stack developer by on-the-job training and access to online training resources. This is an office-based role. Your key accountabilities will include: • Assist with the design of the school's data warehouse, providing the necessary infrastructure for Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, analytics and reporting tools• Support the design and configuration of Microsoft SQL-based databases• Assist with database monitoring, backup routines, and data integration processes (ETL, API, etc.)• Develop, maintain and enhance in-house software applications• Provide expert-level software and database support during critical operations, ensuring continuity and performance during peak periods• Maintain accurate documentation for all database and software systems.• Develop and support off-the-shelf and in-house software applications using Microsoft technologies.• Contribute to software testing, deployment, and version control in line with best practices.• Provide 3rd line support for internal systems and assist staff during critical business events.• Collaborate with support teams to enhance their technical capabilities through training and documentation.• Maintain high standards of customer service through clear and professional communication Qualifications: • Degree in Computer Science. Skills and Experience: • At least one year's programming experience using .net 6+ with C# or equivalent in similar languages (essential).• Using Blazer Web Assembly and Telerik to create web client applications or GUI web design using similar frameworks and techniques.• Use of RESTful APIs to obtain and manipulate data.• At least one year's experience of Microsoft (or similar) SQL queries to extract and manipulate data in multi-tabled normalised databases (essential).• Knowledge of Data Warehousing design and data presentation techniques especially using tools such as SSAS, PowerBI, Telerik Reporting (or similar)• Knowledge of programming and manipulating Microsoft cloud services such Azure/Sharepoint/Teams• Any development of Console Applications/Windows Service Applications. Role - BI Developers x 2 Location - Doncaster Salary - Up to £50,000 Skills - SQL / SSIS / SSRS / PowerBI Work Pattern - Hybrid - 2/3 Days a week in the office We have 2 brand new roles for BI Developers, these roles are slightly different, but both fall within the core MS BI Technology Stack. One is more ETL / Data Warehouse focussed and the other is more Report Focussed, I have outlined this further below! The company have a brand new Data Warehouse in place and now there are multiple projects running concurrently to maximise it's value. We will be recruiting for both role simultaneously therefore no need to specify which you would be interested in as this will be discussed with you. Read on for more information: The Roles One role is more Data Warehouse / ETL focussed, populating and building feeds into their new system. In their words their old system "had data everywhere" so they are looking to streamline and migrate into the new system. They are using an ETL tool to do this, but we do not need experience with that tool - this can be training but we do need some experience with ETL (SSIS is fine!) The other is more reporting focussed, building out reporting solutions and creating dashboards. They are also going to migrate to PowerBI (from SSRS) so there will a major project for you to really get stuck into. They are looking for an exceptional Business Intelligence Developer/ Report Writer (SSRS). This is a challenging role to develop a full summary dashboard report with extensive detailed drill through reports to support a list of construction industry KPI's. The successful candidate will have 2+ years’ experience of producing reports from a SSRS (SQL Server Reporting System) accessing data within a SQL and OpenEdge Database (formally known as Progress RDBMS).
