The Role

Are you passionate about technology and eager to start a career in IT? We are looking for a motivated IT Support Trainee Technician to join our team and develop real-world technical skills.

Your working environment will be a mix of office-based work and hands-on IT support for our manufacturing teams on the factory floor, offering great variety. You will be part of Faerch Group IT, a team of approximately 25 IT support colleagues across the Group, and you will contribute to a global ServiceDesk supporting users across multiple sites.

In the UK, Faerch operates five sites, including Sutton and Ely. Your primary responsibility will be to support users in Poole, London, and Durham. Travel within the UK is expected to support both the London office and the production site in Durham.

You will report into Group IT and work closely with experienced colleagues who will support your learning and development.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line IT support to end users
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues
  • Assist with device setup, maintenance, and upgrades
  • Learn how to manage IT support requests, document issues, and follow IT processes
  • Work alongside experienced IT professionals who will support your development
  • Support the infrastructure team when needed, acting as "boots on the ground" at local sites

  • Basic knowledge of computers and the Microsoft Office package (an advantage)

Qualifications (Preferable, Not Essential)
  • GCSE grades A-C or HND (or equivalent)
  • CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or similar certifications
  • Basic proficiency in Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, email clients, and remote support tools
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Intune, or Azure is an advantage
Essentials
  • A valid driving licence and passport (travel will be required later as part of your development)
  • Ability to work both office-based and on the shop floor, supporting manufacturing teams
