About the Role:

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be a key driver in the evolution of Finova's multi-cloud estate. You will occupy a vital space between infrastructure and software delivery, taking ownership of projects that enable our engineering teams to deploy securely and at pace. This role requires a high degree of autonomy; you will act as the bridge between ground-level execution and the strategic vision set by our Principal engineers. Your mission is to ensure our AWS and Azure systems remain performant, cost-effective, and developer-friendly.

About you:

You are a proactive engineer who views infrastructure as a product. You are passionate about automation, security, and reducing friction for your fellow developers.

  • Cloud Proficient: You have extensive experience managing production workloads in AWS (essential) and Azure (highly desirable).
  • IaC Expert: You are highly proficient with Terraform, with a proven ability to build modular, reusable infrastructure at scale.
  • Pipeline Master: You have a deep understanding of Buildkite and GitHub Actions, with a relentless focus on workflow efficiency.
  • Security-First Mindset: You possess practical experience implementing best practices-such as Identity, Encryption, and Secrets management-within regulated environments.
  • Autonomous & Driven: You have a track record of taking a project from a vague requirement to a production-ready solution with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborative Mentor: You are a strong communicator who enjoys sharing knowledge, conducting code reviews, and helping the wider team level up.
  • Problem Solver: You thrive on optimizing observability and performance to keep a cloud footprint lean and high-performing.
What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for the "how" of our engineering delivery, building the foundation that powers our digital services.

  • Scaling the Cloud: Managing and evolving our multi-cloud environments using Terraform to create highly available, repeatable infrastructure patterns.
  • Optimising CI/CD: Leading improvements to our Buildkite and GitHub pipelines to increase deployment frequency and eliminate developer friction.
  • Integrating Security: Hardening the platform by embedding automated security scanning and "compliance-as-code" into the heart of the delivery process.
  • Enhancing Developer Experience: Building self-service tools and documentation that empower squads to own their services from end to end.
  • Driving Operational Excellence: Spearheading cost-optimization and observability initiatives to ensure our cloud spend remains efficient as we scale.
  • Defining "Golden Paths": Contributing to the standardized engineering patterns that define excellence at Finova and providing technical guidance to mid-level engineers.
  • Spearheading Innovation: Acting as a bridge to strategic vision, ensuring ground-level technical execution aligns with long-term architectural goals.
