Post: ICT Applications Engineer

Salary: SO 1 / PO 1 - £33,915 - £40,950 (Plus on call and stand by allowances equating to approx. £3,700 per annum, once training is complete)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: St Marks House, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees

A variety of digital channels will allow the public to communicate with us in new ways, to report crime and to carry out routine transactions.

To support this vision we are inviting applications for an exciting opportunity to work for Cleveland Police as an ICT Applications Engineer.

In post you will provide an efficient and effective ICT service aligned to best practice frameworks, enabling Cleveland Police to carry out its operational duties and associated functions.  You will assist with the development, maintenance, support and administration of the applications, systems and software for the Force.

You will be educated to HNC or degree level, or possess equivalent ICT experience.  An understanding of the ITIL principles and standards for Service Delivery and Support is required also.  In addition to this we are also looking for candidates who have experience in various technologies, such as Net Framework / Core, Visual Studio, and Mark-up and Scripting languages such as XML and MS-SQL amongst others.

We are seeking candidates who are methodical in their approach, with excellent planning and organisational skills.  You will possess sound knowledge of applications support and development principles and have experience with Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Office SQL databases.

This is a busy role in a large and complex organisation so you will need to be adept at working in such an environment, making sound decisions, actively seeking solutions to problems, working with a range of departments and partner organisations.
